  In Washington Co., VA in 1820 per census. Nash Co Guardian Bonds and Returns: Allen Avent, orphan of Thomas Avent. Bond 1784 by Joseph Johnston, guardian Amos Avent, orphan of Thomas Avent. Bond 1784 by Joseph Johnston, guardian Garland: Allen, Amos and Abner lived in Nash County in the late 1700's and were the children of one Thomas and Rebecca Avent who lived where I grew up in Aventon. Abner moved to Tn after the death of his first wife and had another family there. Allen and Amos were removed to Chatham County NC after their guardian was changed to Joseph Johnston. Later they moved to Va and Tn. Allen Burton born a 1779 probably died 1840-50 Washington Co. Va. married Barsheba Trulove 4 children. from "The Marriages of Washington County, Virginia 1781-1853".
